Microchipping

Microchipping is a way of permanently identifying your horse by inserting into a ligament in the neck an electronic microchip which is then registered to your name and address. This chip can be read using a special scanner which must be passed over the animal’s neck. We strongly encourage microchipping as it will greatly increase your chance of recovering your horse should it be stolen or go missing.   It has been compulsory by law for all animals issued with an equine passport since 31 July 2009 to be microchipped.
